An exciting opportunity to hear Clydesdale's leading concert band perform a wide range of repertoire from inspired arrangements of popular classics to big screen orchestrations, hymns, Scottish favourites and more. Formed by leader John Bryce to fulfil a need for large scale ensemble experiences in rural South Lanarkshire, the band meets in Carluke and caters for all ages, recently adding a Junior section to their numbers.The venue of Carstairs Parish Church has recently been beautifully renovated with warm acoustics and comfortable seating. An evening celebrating the music of Joni Mitchell, exploring her most loved album Blue, and other favourites from her extensive songbook. The Appalachian Dulcimer, synonymous with tracks like 'A Case of You' will feature in the show.Although some of the performance will be in solo acoustic format, local musicians will also feature on bass, piano, guitar and backing vocals to provide a truly memorable experience of some of the best iconic songs of the 20th century.
