Section 1 – Who Are We?

Biggar Little Festival (BLF) is a registered charity (SC036411) whose objective is to promote the advancement of the arts, education and community development within Biggar and its surrounding communities, without distinction of race, religion, gender, political or other opinions, by:

  • developing Biggar and its surrounds as a community where the arts are encouraged and promoted
  • encouraging links between local arts groups
  • promoting exhibitions and performances
  • developing opportunities for local, national and international artists to demonstrate their talents in Biggar and its surrounds
  • encouraging artistic understanding and participation

Section 2 - What Do We Do With Your Information?

When you purchase or contact us through our website, we collect the personal information you give us such as your name, address and email address. We use this information for sales and services communication. When you register an event with us, we collect the aforementioned personal information together with bank account details for payment of ticket receipts.

When you browse our website, we also automatically receive your computer’s internet protocol (IP) address in order to provide us with information that helps us learn about your browser and operating system. Please see Section 6 for more details about specific cookies we collect.

Email Marketing

With your permission, we may send you emails about our events, products and organisational updates. We use Mailchimp for email marketing and to communicate with our clients. Mailchimp offers a double opt-in service and offer full visibility of any of your information used by this service and the option to unsubscribe which will delete any of your personal data.

We do not have an expiry on the amount of time we will hold your data for. We do offer withdrawal of consent and deletion of your data at any time upon your request.

Section 3 - Consent

How do you get my consent?

When you provide us with personal information to complete a purchase, we require your acceptance of the content of this privacy policy, that you consent to our collecting it and using it for that specific reason only.

If we ask for your personal information for a secondary reason, like marketing, we will either ask you directly for your expressed consent, or provide you with an opportunity to say no.

How do I withdraw my consent or request my data to be removed?

Section 4 - Data

Our website is hosted by United Hosting Services. Data is stored through United Hosting Services data storage, databases and the general hosting application. They store your data on a secure server protected by a firewall.

Payment

Any payments for Festival Events are processed via WeeVIA services. Please take the time to read their privacy policy. Payments for merchandise or any events not processed via WeeVia services are paid via Paypal, again please take the time to read their privacy policy.

Data breaches

In the rare occurrence of a data breach, which would significantly harm individuals, we will be report it within 72 hours to the ICO. We will also notify any customers affected.

Section 5 - Third Party Services

In general, the third-party service providers used by us will only collect, use and disclose your information to the extent necessary to allow them to perform the services they provide to us.

For these providers, we recommend that you read their privacy policies so you can understand the manner in which your personal information will be handled by these providers.

Once you leave our website or are redirected to a third-party website or application, you are no longer governed by this Privacy Policy.
