Fine foods, arts, crafts, jewellery and much more are to be found at the Fairs in both the Municipal Hall and St Mary's Hall providing a superb shopping experience and a chance to sample local handicraft and quality produce. Enter the last remaining town gasworks in Scotland – the only surviving example of a once familiar sight. For more than 130 years, this industrial plant made coal gas for Biggar and beyond before the advent of natural gas in the 1960s.

Patricia West Textile Artist is having a Pop Up Shop at the
amazing quilting emporium Biggar Stitches during Biggar Day Out. Come and see her demonstrate free motion machine embroidery,
find out how the sewing magic happens and maybe have a go yourself. There will be commission information, art
work, prints and cards for sale as well as information about upcoming
workshops. Patricia is always happy to
chat about anything sewing, embroidery and stitch related. There will be sweet treats because it makes
everyone a better sewist.

Join Scottish jazz vocalist Louise Dodds as she brings her show to the Biggar Little Festival for the first time.
Louise, who hails from Edinburgh but has enjoyed an illustrious, international career, will be backed by a band made up of some of the country's finest musicians. Expect variety, warmth and passion as well as heartfelt story-telling from one of Scotland’s finest jazz artists.
An exhibition of new original oil paintings
inspired by the beautiful local landscape of Douglas and Angus Estate. Carol is
a former lecturer & graduate of Edinburgh College of Art and the Royal
College of Art, London. Her painting Studio & Gallery is adjacent to the
Scrib Tree and is also open during the BLF Open Studios Trail, where you can
browse through a variety of her recent artwork.
The Scrib Tree offers a relaxed atmosphere where
you can view the exhibition while enjoying a dining experience from breakfast
through lunch and on Friday evenings, a “Supper Club”. Their “Local Larder”,
event celebrates our local and regional produce showcasing the quality food and
drink offering available from this charming..
