Biggar is a traditional market town with a thriving local arts scene, situated in rural Lanarkshire.
Easily accessed from Edinburgh via the A702, and around an hour from Glasgow, Biggar also enjoys good scenic road links with the Scottish Borders, Dumfries & Galloway and the south.

BLF are delighted to announce that they have been awarded £1500 from the Co-op Community Fund. We are very grateful to the Co-op and would like to thank everyone who voted for BLF. The money will assist us with the cost of the 2016 Festival.
During the 2015 Festival the Committee commissioned an appraisal from the independent consultancy company EKOS to gauge the success of the festival and lessons to be learned. The resulting report is available here. The Committee is now considering how to take forward the issues raised.
Registrations are now invited for the Artists Open Studio Trail 2017 which will take place on Saturday 28th and Sunday 29th October. If you are a local artist and would like more information and a registration form please contact the festival administrator, Lesley Armstrong.
